My philosophy is that our human experience, though diverse and varied, is at its most basic a need for connectedness and love. We all matter and are deserving of compassionate and competent care.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
—Arthur Ashe

My background is in Counseling, Anger Management and Group Therapy with Adults and Adolescents. I graduated from University of Michigan with a B.S. in Classical Archaeology and attended University of London for a post grad semester in Archaeological Conservation. I earned my M.S in Counseling from University of Memphis and worked in the legal field and with incarcerated youth. I also am a certified National Counselor and Anger Management Specialist. As a mature student, I returned to school to pursue a second Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from CBU so that I could fully address and treat the needs of patients, including medication management.

Here at Blues City Psychiatry, I work as part of a team under supervision by Dr. Mukatira seeing patients, prescribing medications, providing therapy and supporting patients on their path towards living a full, enriching life. My philosophy is that our human experience, though diverse and varied, is at its most basic a need for connectedness and love. We all matter and are deserving of compassionate and competent care. Mental health may seem elusive though if one is struggling with emotional pain, physical pain, addictions, dementia or biochemical disorders that interfere with functioning. I see my role as psychiatric physician assistant as collaborative both with the treatment team and with our patients. Through listening, understanding and addressing those needs, I hope to assist patients in their journey towards balance and health.
